So. The big thing we were repeatedly warned about moving here (aside from getting robbed, raped, and murdered) was the price of electricity and gasoline. Well, gas turned out to be about $2.87 per gallon. We’ve paid both more and less in the states. Electricity here is billed every two months. So today we got the bill for 9/7 to 11/9. We run at least one of the three mini split a/c units pretty much all the time; sometimes two. We have an electric range, electric water heater, and electric clothes dryer. So I was expecting five or six hundred bucks. Here’s the bill. 404 pesos. (The dollar sign is used for pesos too.) In USD, at today’s exchange rate, that’s $19.43 for 63 days. So much for another crock we were told about Mexico. Loving life here.
